KS2 Handball Competition

Today KS2 had a fun afternoon competing in a Handball Competition between the school houses. The SSOC (Sports Organising Committee) organise a KS2 sports competition once a term and this term it was handball. All the children were excellent sportsmen and women, and everyone enjoyed the afternoon! Maple and Rowan came joint 2nd place, with Ash and Birch as joint winners! Well done everyone!

Feet Investigation!

Today Starlings class were investigating feet in Maths! They measured their left and right feet to see if they were both the same size, investigating whether shoe companies should allow people to buy shoes that are two different sizes! After measuring, the children put their results into a bar chart. They found out that 11 children have different sized feet and 9 had the same sized feet.

Pilgrimages

Today Starlings class learnt about the pilgrimage that many religions take to Mount Kailash in Tibet. We discussed what a pilgrimage is and why people might decide to take them. They learnt about how and why people travel to Mount Kailash and learnt about prostrating as a means of prayer. They tried prostrating outside to understand more about it. Later in the half term Starlings class will be going on a 'Pilgrim's Quest' at Worcester Cathedral to learn about pilgrimage in Christianity.

This half term the children in KS2 have been enjoying a new after school board game club. They all bring in board games from home and play them together. Looks like fun!
